FOURTH STREET FIVE JAZZ BAND
The Fourth Street Five's "Positively Fourth Street" CD is a hard driving blend of familiar and obscure traditional jazz tunes from a band that lives "out on the edge." When listening to the Fourth Street Five, Golden Eagle Jazz Band leader Dick Shooshan said, "There's no margin for error in this band! With only five pieces, each instrument can be heard clearly and distinctly, leaving no room for hiding mistakes!" Yet the band carries it off successfully with energy and swing. The "Plus One" in the CD is the late washboard player Stephen Joseph, who gives this CD his special touch. Three of the tunes are originals composed by band members.
