from American Music Caravan: The 1930s is considered the "Golden Age" of American song; many of
today's "standards" were composed then, particularly during the earlier years.
Note that many bands such as the Benny Goodman Trio, Quartet, and Orchestra,
Teddy Wilson, Fats Waller, Lionel Hampton, the Bob Crosby Orchestra., etc.,
recorded many classic jazz tunes from the 1920s. These are in the Dixieland Fake Book, so we have included a
combined index to both books. Ballroom, latin and novelty dances are likely to
be requested by the same folks who like the music in this book; those tunes are
in Gigbook, which therefore is a
