The
Sheik's list of |
|||||
![]() This is David (The Sheik) Littlefield's selection of the tunes he considers most likely to be played by bands you might want play with. His list is based on his well-honed sense of practicality and his many years of experience. He feels that many key tunes, such as the multi-part classics, are not played as often as they might be, solely because so many musicians who "play some Dixieland" don't know them. Littlefield suggests that by learning them, you will have a lot better chance of being booked, because band leaders really do want to play them. David Littlefield's recommendation for developing your Dixieland repertoire:Learn the numbered tunes first; the rest are suggested add-ons to enrich your repertoire. When you've gotten this list down, the D-CUP list will lead you further.
