This is an excellent educational set, offering the opportunity of infinite repetition as you hone a particular lick or solo.  

 

Practicing to this BackUp Trax, your melodies and solos will get better, cleaner and more focused as you practice solos or licks hundreds of time. This set will improve your timing and rhythm playing.

 

BackUp Trax gives you a rhythm section to play along with and rehearse melodies, solos, licks and rhythm playing.  You can work on perfecting a tune, a solo, or a passage for hours.

 

Melodies to each of the tunes are recorded at about one half speed with just Piano or Guitar accompaniment, followed by a full-speed, full band version of the same tune.  Instruments are isolated and panned for maximum flexibility.  By adjusting the balance control on your stereo, you can heard 1) the full band with melodies, 2) basic rhythm with melodies, or 3) just basic rhythm.  

 

Split-track has all tunes at slow and regular speeds with melodies, and allows you to hear just rhythm, just lead or both.


        Playing is the most important thing you can do to learn and improve.  I know that seems obvious but I mention it here because of the large number of students I've met who think of music as an intellectual exercise.  Wrong! You've gotta get in there and blow or pick or pound; you can't just read about it.
